If you are like most parents, it is a challenge to get your kid to eat anything green.  One easy way to do it is by making a smoothie (you can even call it a milkshake if you want to make it more appealing to your child).  Obviously if you are new to smoothies you can have this one too. :-)

Why Did I Originally Sign Up?

Immediately after my 2013 ING Miami Marathon racing nightmare in January, I signed up for the 2013 Fox Valley Marathon which was going to take place on September 22nd.  I wanted to redeem myself since I finished (5 hrs and 17 mins) in a time that was no where close to my 4 hour goal or my marathon PR (4 hrs and 11 mins).  Plus if I registered before the end of January, I would get a discount (yippee!).  I would then have almost 8 months to prepare for the marathon to reach my sub 4 hour marathon goal and it would leave me plenty of time to come up with my training plan.

So once again I am an injured runner.  This time it is a tweak/tightness in the Psoas Major or Tensor Fasciae Latae areas.  The area becomes tight and gives me a dull pain once I begin to run.  Depending on the day I can walk around with some limping but nowadays as it has gotten better you would barely notice I am hurt.  (At the bottom of the post I include a video link on how to stretch the Psoas Major area.  I also include an article link about Tensor Fasciae Latae.)
