Based on what I hear and read, the current generation and the younger ones want everything handed to them.  Everyone wants the easy life.  Everyone wants the quick fix to their problems including weight loss.  Seems like no one wants to work hard for what they truly want (lose weight).  


Want to know why most weight loss surgery people regain their weight?  Because they do not appreciate and comprehend the work it took to lose the weight!  If you put in the effort, day in and day out, you will NOT want to regain the weight and you will do what it takes to make sure it doesn't happen.

  • Waking up almost every day (including the weekends) before 4am?  Not easy.
  • Preparing and packing up my lunch for work at 4am?  Not easy.
  • Making my own breakfast every morning?  Not easy.
  • Working out 6 days a week 1-3 hours each day?  Not easy.
  • Saying no to the sweets being brought into work?  Not easy.  (Well it is very easy to do now.)
Guess what?  I know it is not easy, but I don't want it any other way.  Yeah some days it is overwhelming.  However, I don't want the easy life anymore.  I already had that life, I am okay if I live this way for the rest of my life. 
  • Easy was sitting on the couch after coming home from work every day. 
  • Easy was picking up fast food on the way to work every day. 
  • Easy was going out for greasy fast food for lunch. 
  • Easy was having a box of cookies before bed every night. 
  • Easy was sleeping 10 hours every weekend night. 
  • Easy was not exercising at all for the first 25+ years of my life.

The easy life got me nowhere except up to 355 lbs. 
  • Every time I was overeating, it eventually resulted in more time in the gym. 
  • Every time I gave up on resolutions, it just delayed the amount of time I lost in my 'prime' to be using my athletic ability to be running, cycling or weight lifting.
  • Every time I sat there on the couch or slept in I lost opportunities on enjoying the sun rise or set during runs or walks.
Giving up to resistance and to other people who say it is okay the way you are, is the easy route.  What I can tell you is...
  • I know it is not easy at first to get up every morning to head to the gym, especially when it is cold outside.
  • I know it sucks you have to spend 20 minutes to prepare your lunch. 
  • I know it would be better to sleep in than make your breakfast or get a workout in before work. 

But you know what?  It is all worth it because you will feel so much better at the 'end' and you will appreciate all the work you put into it.
